National Weather Service - The National Weather Service (NWS) is one of the six scientific agencies that make up the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the United States government. It is tasked with providing "weather, hydrologic, and climate forecasts and warnings for the United States, its territories, adjacent waters and ocean areas, for the protection of life and property and the enhancement of the national economy.
NOAA Weather Radio - NOAA Weather Radio (NWR) is a nationwide network of radio stations broadcasting continuous weather information directly from a nearby National Weather Service office NWR broadcasts National Weather Service warnings, watches, forecasts and other hazard information 24 hours a day.
Storm Prediction Center - The Storm Prediction Center (SPC), located in Norman, Oklahoma, is part of the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), operating under the control of the National Weather Service (NWS), which in turn is part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the Department of Commerce (DoC). Until October 1995, the SPC was known as the National Severe Storms Forecast Center (NSSFC) and was located near Kansas City, Missouri.
